Eden Optometrists was founded by Andy Muir and later joined by Johan van der Meer. Previously known as Muir Optometrists, we rebranded in June 2023 to Eden Optometrists, a name that better reflects our growing range of services and our deep roots in the region.

Johan is a dedicated optometrist with a passion for delivering exceptional eye care. With a strong foundation in the field, Johan previously established and operated multiple successful practices before joining Andy to form Eden Optometrists. He shares the practice's commitment to providing top-notch care and takes a personal approach to understanding each patients unique visual needs. Outside of the practice, Johan enjoys an active lifestyle and values time with his family.
Andy Muir
Andy is a respected member of the local community and founder of our practice, established in 1986 as Muir Optometrists. With a strong reputation built on his involvement in various community organizations and initiatives, including Rotary and the founding of Oakhill School, Andy brings a genuine passion for eye care and a commitment to staying at the forefront of modern technology to deliver exceptional patient care.
